Linen-backers and restorers of authentic vintage posters since 1995, M & W Graphics offers full conservation for most works on paper, using only archival, non-acidic materials.

Our services include any preparatory work – when required, old backings of card, linen or board can be safely detached from valuable paper. Tape and stains can also be removed.

Posters are usually then strengthened and preserved by mounting them with wheat paste to a sheet of high quality acid-free paper, itself bonded to a duck canvas.

Additional touch-up can be highly effective but should be kept to a minimum. Our philosophy of conservation is certainly to breathe new life into sometimes very distressed paper, but always with care not to overwork a piece. All our services are fully reversible.
